As part of Sky Arts Portrait Painter of the Year competition, I was fortunate enough to get to paint the Paralympic Rugby Player, Michael Kerr.
We had four hours to paint a full portrait, with cameras everywhere and probably the odd cheeky comment overheard on the radio mic.
The Judges were Kathleen Soriano, Director of Exhibitions of the Royal Academy of Arts, Portrait artist Tai Shan Schierenberg and Kate Bryan, Head of Contemporary at The Fine Art Society. Frank Skinner and Joan Bakewell were presenting.
I didn't win the heat but had great feedback from the judges and such a good day meeting other amazing portrait painters.
